Description
THIS… is a 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet, finished in black with a body-colored hardtop, a black soft top, and a black interior.
This 911 features the desirable 6-speed manual transmission.
The attached Carfax history report shows no accidents or mileage discrepancies in this 911’s past.
Factory equipment includes a power-retractable soft top, draped leather upholstery, power-adjustable and heated front seats, a carbon fiber shift knob and brake lever, stainless steel door entry guards, a CD storage compartment, and automatic climate control.
Modifications reported by the seller include 18-inch Sport Design wheels, an aftermarket exhaust system, headlights from a later model 996, LED taillights (factory taillights included), and an Alpine iDA-X200 head unit with satellite radio receiver.
Service documentation shown in the gallery indicates that this 911 had its IMS bearing and clutch replaced during a service in June 2020 at 133,901 miles.
Porsche introduced the 996-generation 911 for the 1999 model year. It was the first water-cooled 911, and it stood out from its predecessors with a new-look front end that ditched the round lights. The lineup grew to include coupe, convertible, and Targa models plus numerous variants ranging from the base Carrera to the track-ready GT2.
Rear-wheel drive 1999 model year cars, like this one, are the only version of the 996 to come with a cable throttle, as opposed to throttle-by-wire on later cars and all-wheel drive models.
Power comes from a 3.4-liter flat-6, rated at 296 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
